The arrival of a revolutionary product shakes the monotony of Amsterdam. Taking as a starting point images captured during six months of the Dutch daily life, the director and designer Amir Admoni creates an entertaining animated fiction that, behind the sarcastic humor, raises extremely urgent issues, as the emptiness of consumerist society and the paranoia of european anti-immigration policies.
In 2008, Monkey Joy has won the best short film award at Granimado, best brazilian short in the 32nd São Paulo International Cinema Festival and best short-film in Amsterdam Cinema Festival.
The short film is not yet available online.
